B. Brenda Gong, DDS
Meet Dr. Gong
Dr. Gong has been working in the dental field for nearly 15 years now, and she loves being able to change other people’s smiles for the better, improving their oral health in a way that also benefits their quality of life.
“I grew up in a small town where most people knew one another very well, and it was common to see neighbors struggling with chronic, untreated dental pain. As a young child, I wished I could treat their problems for free, which is why I became interested in the medical/dental field in the 3rd grade. Later, I contacted her hometown dentist and began gaining dental skills and knowledge in preparation for college – and the rest is history. I truly love my profession and wouldn’t change my career path for anything in the world.”

Education
Dr. Gong earned her BS degree in dental hygiene at UNC-Chapel Hill. She then went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she achieved her Doctor of Dental Surgery. She also extensively trained in implantology during dental school and was one of just eight students selected for advanced implant courses – she even had the opportunity to place them! After graduation, she took six months of mini implant resident courses as well. She has also studied IV Sedation, TMD/occlusion, and has had extended training periodontology and is very knowledgeable in gum treatment.
Today, Dr. Gong pursues as much continuing education as possible on a yearly basis, taking almost 100 courses annually! She loves seeing the great outcomes that come from extensive cases like dental implant, dentures, and new crowns. Dentistry isn’t only about the clinical work – it’s also about building relationships with both the patients and her other staff members! At Accent Family Dentistry, she has seen young children grow from teenagers to adults to parents, and being able to hear their life stories and grow along with them is very rewarding.

Personal
At home, Dr. Gong is married with one child. Her small family loves traveling together and getting to experience different cultures, especially the different environments and food. They also play golf and tennis as much as possible on the weekends and enjoy gardening in their front and back yards each spring. It is always so enjoyable to see plants grow and flowers bloom! Personally, she is also a passionate lifelong learner and never gets tired of studying just about anything, as long as she doesn’t have to take a test at the end.
